WP-Client v.3.7.7

WP-Client v.3.7.7

We are proud to announce the release of WP-Client v.3.7.7! Included in this update and it’s recent siblings are a few tweaks and bug fixes, several new functionality improvements, as well as a few highly requested features.

In recent updates we have added a host of features related to Custom Fields. Firstly, you can now create separate Custom Fields for Client’s Staff users, allowing you to collect and store data that is unique between Clients and Client’s Staff users. Related to this, we have also added a new “datepicker” Custom Field Type, which allows you to create a Custom Field with a calendar datepicker type, making setting things like birthdays and signup dates that much easier. The last of the Custom Field additions is the ability to link a Custom Field with a standard WordPress field. Using the “Relate to User Meta” field of a Custom Field, you can connect one of your created Custom Fields with a standard WordPress field, such as “last_name”, “first_name”, etc. Doing this will make it so when the Custom Field is filled out and saved, the corresponding WordPress meta field will automatically be filled as well.

Next, we have a few features related to WP-Client email notifications. FIrstly, we have added the ability to resend both the “welcome” email and “verification” email to client. These simple requests were highly requested by our customers, and they have been added in recent updates, allowing you to resend these automatic notifications whenever you like. Along with these new email notification functions, we have also added the option for clients to add a CC email for private messages. This new setting allows the client enter a specific email address to have CC’d for all private messages that they send within their HUB Page, giving the client the option to keep their associates “in the loop” regarding the private messages they send.

Next we have several new functionalities related to user “conversion”. After several long-time customers requested some additions and customizations to the WP-Client “convert user” feature, we decided to take their suggestions and expand them into two useful new features. Firstly, you can now set “default” settings for use in converting users to WPC-Clients, WPC-Staff, WPC-Managers, and WPC-Admins. This allows you to set defaults for things like “Save Current User Role” (for all WP-Client roles), whether or not to create the first “default” Portal Page (for converting to WPC-Client role), and so on. To tie in with user conversion, we have also added the ability to “auto-convert” certain non-WP-Client roles. With this new function, you can choose, for example, to automatically convert all new “Subscribers” users that are created in your installation into WPC-Clients. This allows you to setup your client portal in such a way that different users that register to your site (for example, through a non-WP-Client registration form) can register as one user role, and then automatically be converted into a WPC-Client, complete with their own HUB Page.

In addition to the features mentioned above, WP-Client v.3.7.7 and it’s recent family have included many bug fixes, text corrections, and peformance tweaks. You can find the full changelog for WP-Client v.3.7.7 (as well as all other WP-Client versions) here: WP-Client Changelog History
